On this video, I answer to a few questions, including some on sticky notes in the middle register, and on the bending exercises that I have sent before. Hope this helps, and let me know if you have any questions
In my opinion, this exercise is the most important one when it comes to building sound throughout the range. Whether building your upper register or lower register, this exercise that I admit takes a lot of patience, is a great way to consistently improve. Good luck ! ( you can do it on Bass trombone, […]
A few useful exercises to practice low register on bass trombone and any other brass instrument. Remember that good range means being able to play in all registers WITHIN a musical context. So practice with GOOD technique, don’t take short cuts. Happy practice !
I love this piece by French Composer Poulenc. I arranged it a couple years ago and recorded it here, in Germany. I’d like to record a whole French music album soon. What do you think?
I thought it could be cool to introduce myself and explain a little bit who I am and what I do. As you’ll see soon, the content on my profile will be quite eclectic. So. Who am I? What am I about?
I like to think of myself as a full entity of my past present and future. In order for me to be completely fulfilled in life, I need my activities to be linked to those three categories.
First and foremost, I am a musician. I have been playing since the age of 2, and keep going at it every single day/night for hours at a time. I was in my mother’s womb for 9 months while she was playing in the orchestra/opera, and I really do think it has had an impact on how I hear/feel music. Playing music links me to my PRESENT. When I play, I cannot be anywhere else than HERE and NOW.
Recently, I have started to code. I have grew a new passion for making iPhone applications. I really do believe that coding is an art. Not because we can actually make the code look beautiful, but also because when I decide to create an app, it is to solve a problem in a creative manner. I strongly believe that every single problem in the world can be solved or at least helped out by an app. Don’t believe me? Give me a problem. I’ll give you an app. Making apps links me to the part of myself that craves to contribute in our world’s FUTURE.
Last but NOT least, I like to write. I like to write to reflect on my PAST, and to share my experiences / thoughts. I have not yet written a book, although it is high up on my goals list. For now, I have enjoyed writing for myself every morning and evening. I also started a few blogs ( http://www.betatometa.com )
